10-inch mini rack for a closet that is not 19-inch
A 10-inch cabinet is a form-factor decision, not a cheaper 19-inch. If your switch, UPS, and patch panel are already 19-inch, stay on the StarTech 12U 2-post. Buy 10-inch only when the wall is too narrow, or the gear is already 10-inch.
10-inch here means 254 mm rail spacing, not a 10-inch-deep 19-inch shelf. Most pizza-box 2.5G switches, 1U PDUs, and 12-port panels are 19-inch. A 10-inch box will not take them. Skip
Skip 10-inch because it looks smaller in a photo. Skip a 19-inch desktop open frame sold as a “mini rack” — those still take 19-inch gear. Skip the glass-door sibling unless you want to look at LEDs; same money as perforated on the 11.8-inch 6U. Skip 10-inch switches unless the cabinet is already on the wall.
