A 1U shelf so the NAS is not sitting on the UPS
Mini PCs and 2-bay NAS boxes are not 19-inch. Hang a 10-inch vented 1U cantilever on the 12U frame. The 7-inch sibling is too short for a DS224+.
Park the pizza boxes on steel, not on the UPS lid and not on the carpet. Hang this on the StarTech 12U 2-post. Plug the metal 1U strip into the UPS, not the other way around.
