QNAP QSW-1105-5T vs TL-SG105S-M2: the QNAP 5-port tax
QNAP NAS buyers get pointed at a matching 5-port 2.5G switch. The store still prints $109.00 on a legacy unmanaged puck that is out of stock. The closet default is the TL-SG105S-M2 at $35–39. Same five 2.5G ports. Skip the logo.
QSW-1105-5T: five 2.5GbE RJ-45, unmanaged, fanless, 12 V wall brick. Maker max 12 W. 16K MAC, 25 Gbps fabric, 12.5 Gbps non-blocking, 9K jumbo. Loop detect with a dedicated LED. 34 × 180 × 145 mm — a bigger desk puck than the TP-Link. Two-year paper. QNAP’s own spec page now labels it Legacy. Chip on Amazon cards is Broadcom BCM53161. Need 10G SFP+ for a NAS? That is QSW-2104-2S, not this box.

Skip QSW-1105-5T because the NAS is QNAP. A switch does not have to match the NAS logo. Skip waiting on a QNAP restock. Skip Amazon 3P cards that only exist because the store is empty. Skip eBay lots. If you actually needed two 10G SFP+ cages, buy QSW-2104-2S. If you counted past five endpoints, read 8 vs 5. We have not sat with a unit.
