Export the plan before you wipe a phone
Lab plan and ByteRush have no email recovery. Export the notebook and lesson progress, and add a second passkey, before you wipe a phone.
This is not a backup of the house folder. Photos and the Samba share still want a backup of the house folder. This note is only the optional cloud notebooks.
Lab plan
Sign in at plan.labthrift.com. Settings → Export JSON. That file is the inventory, weekend ticks, closet map, hosts, and later buys. Import it later on a new device after you create a passkey for that username, or start a new username and import into an empty plan.
Also add a second passkey or mint an enroll code while the old phone still unlocks. Detail: keep a lab plan with a passkey, not an email.
ByteRush
On app.labthrift.com, open Profile. Export progress downloads a JSON of XP, completed lessons, quizzes, and gear answers. That file is a copy you keep. It does not sign you in on a new phone by itself — you still need a ByteRush passkey.
Anonymous progress lives in the browser. Export it before you clear site data.
Two files, one login
The exports do not merge. Plan JSON will not load in ByteRush. One passkey opens both apps. See one Labthrift passkey.
What next
Rooms: how the three sites fit. House files: a backup of the house folder.
Skip
- Skip waiting for a recovery email.
- Skip wiping the only device that holds the only passkey.
- Skip treating this export as an offsite copy of family photos.
